Bring some stress relief home for the holidays

Those huge lines at the mall. Spending way too much time with your weird cousins. And the same holidays songs on the radio over and over and over and over again. For a time of year that talks an awful lot about peace and goodwill, the holidays are packed with stress.

More than causing you to bite your nails or hit the eggnog a little hard, stress is a serious thing. Both short- and long-term stress triggers changes in the body increasing the likelihood of getting sick, raising the risk of serious conditions like heart disease, and can make problems we already have worse. In fact, some experts believe stress-related tension accounts for 80-90 percent of disease.

The good news is you don’t have to boycott the holidays or hit the lottery to alleviate stress. Regular massage prompts the body to move from sympathetic activity to parasympathetic activity, enabling the mind to calm and slow down – similar to taking your foot off the gas in a car. This respite from intense thought and stress “restarts” the mind and restores a healthy mental state.

Frequent massage – as delivered by Human Touch massage products - also delivers several other stress-erasing benefits, including:

- Prompts the body to release endorphins, which ease tension and improve mood.
- Enables the mind and body to rest and enjoy deeper, more restorative sleep that contributes to overall wellbeing.
- Helps lower blood pressure and maintain the body’s natural wellness.
- Improves the mind’s ability to monitor stress signals and respond appropriately, enhancing capacity for calm thinking and creativity.

And you don’t have to spend a fortune to give or receive the gift of massage. Human Touch offers a wide range of massage products for everyone on your list, including you. So when you gather with friends and family to celebrate the holidays this year, leave stress with the wreath – on the doorstep.

I have had fibromyalgia since I sprained my back at the age of 15. I have been through test after test for many years, on many medications, and have had many surgeries. It was not until I learned about the world of massage that my life changed drastically.  I bought a massage chair seven years ago and started using it slowly, a couple minutes a day (or as much as I could handle). Then started adding minutes. I now do 5 to 20 minutes per day, as needed.

I am currently off of all my medications and doing so much better. Working full time for 4 years, I feel I have a lot more control of my life. Before using the massage chair, no one could even touch me I hurt so bad. When using the massage chair, you can put the rollers where you need it, loosening up the area. The massage chair broke up the huge knots in my back, taught me how to relax, and even gave me more energy. It has done wonders for my neck, shoulders, restless legs, and sciatic nerve. I am not healed of fibromyalgia, but I am feeling better than I have in a very long time. I believe we should have a massage everyday, no matter how we get it!

Sincerely,

Your fibro buddy,

CRLN

“Before I discovered the advantages of frequent home massage I was at the doctor and chiropractor several times a week, and was on a lot of medication. That’s all changed. After starting slow, I now use my Human Touch massage chair several times a day and I feel great. I’m completely off my medication and no longer have the stress, financial burden or inconvenience of shuttling to medical treatments. It’s literally changed my life.” – Carleen Harwood, Diagnosed with Fibromyalgia in 1992

I had forgotten how wonderful Las Vegas can be! The American Osteopathic Association decided to hold their annual meeting at The Sands Expo and Convention Center and use The Palazzo Hotel as the headquarters hotel. They could not have made a better choice! The suites were fabulous, and the service was truly five star.

As for the meeting, I was stunned at how well attended the conference was. Action in the Human Touch booth was non-stop for the entire three days of exhibition. As usual, the HT-7120 massage chair was the star of the show and the HT-7450 Zero-Gravity massage chair was a close second. The impact of the PC-6 (Perfect Chair) was more noticeable at this conference then in past years. More and more doctors are starting to realize the real benefits of “zero gravity“. The way the chair instantly transfers the load off the spine, the way the chair keeps the knees flexed above the heart, (as well as the head), improving venal return and lymphatic drainage, the way the chair distributes the weight evenly, all work in concert to deliver the most comfortable, therapeutic seating experience possible! The future for ALL furniture IS the zero gravity design!

This was by far the best AOA event we have attended and look forward to exhibiting next year in San Francisco, CA!

I took the red eye flight from Las Vegas to Atlanta, GA Tuesday night so I could attend the legendary durable medical equipment trade show known as “Medtrade” I am so glad I made the trip! In as much as the overall size of the show was smaller than recent years, the number of attendees was plentiful and enthusiastic! The debut of the HT-5005 had a very good reception as a low cost HT massage chair with a lot of features and a lot of “eyeball”. I anticipate great sales for this chair.

The demand for new products available for DME dealers has never been more evident than it is now. People want a chair that not only has therapeutic benefits that, Human Touch products offer, but a massage chair that looks as good in the living room as does the entire Human Touch line!

I will be attending the Florida Chiropractic Society meeting, November 14th, 15th, and 16th, in ST. Petersburg, Florida at the Hilton, and the Florida Chiropractic Association meeting the following week end, November 21st, 22nd, and 23rd, in beautiful Naples, Florida at the Naples Grand Resort. I will report back to you after those events!

In the mean time, “We Got Your Back!”

I concluded my season on the PGA Tour by tying for 25th at the Children’s Miracle Network Classic at Disney. Overall, my play in 2008 was fairly solid despite an indifferent start. I finished the year inside the top-30 on the Fed-Ex Cup standings and I will finish the year inside the top-50 in OWGR.

As I prepare for the 2009 season, I plan to play two events in Australia and then return to South Africa for the holidays. I am excited about my trip to Australia, as I have always enjoyed playing internationally and seeing different parts of the world. In addition, getting home to South Africa to visit my parents is always relaxing for me.

This is my last journal entry for the year, so a happy holiday season to all the Human Touch massage chair owners. I look forward to meeting some of you on the West Coast swing in January 2009.

All the best-
