The Newest Headlines Surrounding Massage Chairs and Human Touch

‘Tis the season for golfers. We have found a great affinity for the massage chair by golfers, particularly the male ones for some reason. We went on a television show a week or so ago to show the increase in range of motion of a massage chair client. Before the segment we measured his left and right rotation in the low back. He had an obvious decreased right rotation. After a 15 minute massage chair session, focusing on the thoracic and lumbar spines, we saw an immediate increase of the right lumbar rotation range of motion. The practical application of this little case study for a golfer is that a decreased right lumbar range of motion can translate into a decreased back swing for a right handed golfer or a decreased follow through for a left handed golfer. Particularly for the right handed golfer, a decrease right rotation leading to a decreased backswing will definitely affect the power of the swing and follow through because it is the height of the back swing that predominantly determines the power of the swing and, thus, the distance of a shot. Crazy, but true! Want to increase your golf game?…get a massage chair and sit in it prior to each round of golf!

So, that is why it is the season for golfers…and massage chairs. A massage chair will decrease muscle tightness and increase segmental spinal motion to result in an increase of gross spinal movement and, ultimately, improved golf swing. Shave off a few strokes from your game with your new massage chair.
