The Newest Headlines Surrounding Massage Chairs and Human Touch

Friday, March 26th, 2010

Hello from Florida.  I just completed the WGC-CA Championship in Miami by finishing inside the top 25.  My game feels really good at the moment.  Thus far in 2009, I have played pretty solid making six of seven cuts with three top-10 finishes.

I just returned from the Bahamas for some rest and am back in the game at

Bay Hill, then the Masters.  Historically, I take the week off prior to all majors.  The week off has allowed my mind and body to rest for the grind the following week.

The Masters is my favorite tournament of the year.  The golf course, flowers, clubhouse, hospitality, staff, etc. make it an unbelievable experience.  In 2006 I finished second, in 2007 I led through two rounds and in 2009 I won the Par-3 competition.  Needless to say, I am comfortable at Augusta and love the atmosphere.

Hopefully I will have some great news to report after Augusta in my next blog.

Cheers-

Tim Clark

The ability to stand, stretch, move, bend, sit, and bear weight is due to the support provided by your back.  It is the primary support structure in the human body, and yet it can be easily injured if we don’t give it the care it deserves.

A back is healthy when it is well-balanced, which means that the neck, chest and lower back curves are all aligned properly.  A healthy back is flexible and supported by the vertebrae, which are padded and protect the spine from damage or injury.

Because of the wide range of motions we undergo on a daily basis, it is little wonder that the back can become injured so easily.  Poor posture and weak muscles place excess stress on the vertebrae and back muscles, which can result in pain, inflammation, and injuries such as herniated discs and scoliosis.

There are several things we can do throughout our daily lives to minimize the risk of back injury.  For example, make sure you always maintain proper posture, especially if you spend most of your working hours in an office chair in front of a computer.  Also, make sure you exercise the muscles in the back with stretching and controlled weight lifting.

Treat your back properly by taking the time to stretch and relax during long car rides or long stints in a desk chair.  Use your back muscles with care by lifting heavy items with your knees, not your back.  If your job requires that you lift heavy objects, protect your back by wearing a brace and do not overexert yourself.

HT-7450_Hero_Shot_Wells_Up_smallerFinally, you should seek out chiropractic care and regular massages. Human Touch® gives you the opportunity to receive the gentle and relaxing touch your back requires after a long day of standing, stretching, moving, bending, sitting, and supporting.  The World Federation of Chiropractic recently endorsed the products created by Human Touch®, and due to their healing nature, I do too.  I particularly like the AcuTouch™ HT-7450 Zero-Gravity Massage Chair, which releases gravity’s natural pressure on your body by fitting to the body and delivering a massage equivalent to that provided by a professional masseuse.  The Zero-Gravity Perfect Chair® recliner is also an excellent tool for any back care regimen, placing the body in a virtually weightless position.  In this physician-recommended posture, the spine, hip, and knee joints are on or close to the balanced midpoint of the muscles.  This results in natural relaxation and minimum muscle tension.

The body is a powerful but delicate tool, and the back ensures we remain active and functioning each and every day.  In my opinion, that is reason enough to treat it with care.

It’s finally time to move from our longer, colder winter days to one of the favorite times of the year, spring! Spring is a time for mankind and nature to come out from hiding to taste the warmth of spring and her many brilliant blossoming petals.

We are not different from nature as we shed our winter skin and prepare ourselves for what I call a “rebirthing cycle”.  We may feel more apt to move our bodies with hiking, biking, dancing, and swimming, or perhaps some yoga. We feel lighter and brighter.

It is natural to feel some winter blues as we have been without as much sunlight and warmth.  Spring is a perfect time to begin receiving regular massages to warm-up our muscles up, massage-rolling-female-model-jpegget our fluids moving, and lubricate our joints.  Being touched is so vital to our health and wellbeing.  Getting massages with the Young Living oils is a profound way to oxygenate our blood, brain, and cells which can instantaneously support us in feeling so much more alive and clear in our brains.

aromatherapy-joyMy favorite Young Living oils to use in the spring time with my clients are oils like Joy™ Lavender, Sacred Mountain™, Awaken™, Harmony™ & Peace & Calming™. The oil molecules are so small they easily, quickly and readily pass through all the layers in the skin and go directly into our cells and blood. You can feel it right away working to soften muscle spasms, lessen inflammation and pain, bringing us back to a more balanced state of being. I also find that sitting in the Human Touch® Massage chair while inhaling the Young Living oils being diffused, is a remarkable combination for regeneration. So go out there and get yourself a good massage, while enjoying aromatherapy to wash away those winter blues. Enjoy!
