For thousands of years, man has used sound to heal the body, access deeper states of consciousness and expand awareness. Chanting, toning, Tibetan singing bowls, Chinese meditation gongs, and mantras are a few examples of the ancient use of sound. Certain types of sounds and music are effective in creating states to calm or energize a person. With today’s technology and scanning devices, studies show how sound can have a profound effect on neurophysiology.
Like vibrating a wine glass with its correct sound frequency, we can use sound to physically resonate or vibrate every cell of the body. As I mentioned in my last blog, I use the Perfect Chair in my work. I find it a great tool in creating a beneficial body posture for deep tissue resonance. It has become a wonderful tool in my Bio-Tuning® modality where I find and then use a person’s own fundamental frequency to resonate their mind/body. It is a very effective way to awaken what I call the “Inner Physician” within my patients. You may call this Healing Power the Bio-Organic Intelligence, the Higher Power or whatever term is acceptable to you. It is this Power which is the Doctor and that is with each of us.
A table or chair used to resonate a body is only as good as the music played through it. Not all music, even some which sounds pretty, is actually relaxing or mind/body harmonious. To be mind/body harmonious the effect on the nervous system must be one which brings a person into a state of homeostasis. Homeostasis is the state which registers a zero point of stress. It is the place of balance, healing, growth and wellness. With athletes especially, but available to all of us, this state is frequently referred to as “the zone.”
My research at the Center for Neuroacoustic Research has led me to create sound only in a scientific manner and for a scientific reason. It must be mind/body harmonious to create healing, health and wellness. The “magic” is in the music, but the chair contributes greatly with its zero gravity, ergonomic positioning. With the combination and other aspects which I will share from time to time, is it any wonder that a person leaves our Sound Journey Chair after a brief time rejuvenated, perhaps free of pain, more centered and more calm? Is it any wonder the most frequent words heard are “WOW!” “Fantastic!” “I want one.”
No, this is no accident! “Healing the Body * Heart * Mind and Spirit with Sound…”
