According to the American Pain Foundation, an estimated 50 million Americans suffer from persistent pain each year. Add two loved ones for every patient and the total number of people affected is at least 150 million Americans–50% of the population.

Medical experts also agree that holistic approaches to pain management, which include regular massage, stress reduction, and proper relaxation, combined with proper medical treatment, can greatly help pain sufferers achieve a healthier and happier lifestyle with less pain.

Dr. James Rouse, N.D., a naturopathic physician and esteemed member of Human Touch’s Wellness Council, says, “Successful holistic pain management includes harmonizing the chemistry it? creates along with lifestyle medicine practices which include exercise, stress management, body work and therapeutic massage.” The Human Touch® Wellness Council comprises esteemed experts in their fields, ranging from doctors, to massage therapists and aroma-herbalists, professional athletes, and more. Each of these professionals has dedicated their time and expertise to educating individuals about how to live healthier and happier lives through regular massage, relaxation, and other wellness practices.

• Connect with other pain sufferers and their loved ones to share personal stories and inspiration, including individuals with pain conditions who use Human Touch® massage chairs, Perfect Chairs and wellness products, as part of their daily wellness lifestyle routine, such as fibromyalgia sufferer Kim Schultz of Taylorsville, UT. She says, “Moderately severe fibromyalgia ruled my life for a while. The painful muscles that tighten up and won’t release made resting or sleeping extremely difficult. For the past several years, I’ve found relief in my Human Touch® iJoy® massage chair. I’ve tried a lot of chairs but the iJoy® was the only chair that gave me relief. The firm kneading and rolling massage that the chair delivers to my back allows me to rest, to sleep, and to breathe again. The chair has made a huge difference in my life. It is the one thing that I know will relieve my pain when everything else fails.”
